grub rescue > ls

1. then you will see result something like this
2. this are list of your partition in your laptop

(hd0) (hd0,msdos5) (hd0,msdos3) (hd0,msdos2) (hd0,msdos1) (hd1) (hd1,msdos1)

1. try to recognize which partition is this

grub rescue > ls (hd0,msdos1)

1. let’s assume this is the linux partition

grub rescue > ls (hd0,msdos2)

1. set (hd0,msdos2) as root

grub rescue > set root=(hd0,msdos2)

1. set prefix to [partition]/boot/grub

grub rescue > set prefix=(hd0,msdos2)/boot/grub

1. if this produced an error, reset root and prefix to something else

grub rescue > insmod normal

grub rescue > normal

Und dann

sudo update-grub

1. use /dev/sda so the grub will installed at the root of your partition not at specific partition (all can access it)

sudo grub-install /dev/sda
